For several years in a row Amway Russia corporate social responsibility projects receive high recognition of expert jury at charity contests among corporate donors. These contests are focused on selecting companies’ best practices in development and implementation of CSR programs and promoting them in business environment and in the society in general.

  • It has been for the third year running that corporate social responsibility projects launched by the Amway company received a high assessment from the expert jury at a Corporate Charity Leaders national competition in Russia. This time it was a partnership project by the business newspaper Vedomosti, the audit and consultancy network of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and Forum Donorov (Donors Forum), a Russian nonprofit partnership of grant-making organizations. The project aimed to find out the best practices in the creation and implementation of corporate charity programs and disseminate information about them in the business community and among the general public. Structurally, the project was comprised of a study of corporate charity based on an approved methodology and a competition of charity programs that ran in three categories.

    The categories were Banks, Retailing and Consumer Sector Companies, and Manufacturing and Commodity Companies.

    A Child’s Smile, a joint project with UNICEF, received the third prize in the Retailing and Consumer Sector Companies category.

    CJSC Mercedes Benz RUS won the first and British American Tobacco Russia (BAT Russia) the second prize.

    This year’s study covered 53 companies. They included leading Russian companies such as Lukoil, Russian Standard, Severstal, UralSib, AFK Sistema, and RUSAL and Russian subsidiaries of foreign companies such as Mercedes Benz, Reiffeisenbank, Intel, BAT Russia, Citibank, and Unimilk.

    The findings of the study and an analytical review of the state of corporate charity in Russia were published in a special supplement to Vedomosti entitled “Blagotvoritelnost” (“Charity”) in the newspaper’s issue for November 22, 2010.

  • Results of the All-Russia competition "Corporate Social Responsibility Research 2008" were summed up in November 2009. The contest was organized and conducted by the Donors Forum, newspaper "Vedomosti" and PriceWaterhouseCoopers. At this competition Amway presented its joint project with UNICEF called "Child’s Smile". The project is dedicated to opening of play and sensory rooms in the children's medical and social institutions throughout Russia. We are very proud that Amway was listed in the shortlist of winners in nomination "Best program to foster a culture of philanthropy in the society". This nomination was established by the Public Chamber’s Commission on the Development of Philanthropy and Improvement of Legislation on NGOs. Among all CSR projects, submitted by 16 companies for this nomination, the jury selected the best three programs, including Amway’s "Child’s Smile".

    More than 60 leading Russian companies, among them Lukoil, Severstal, Russky Standard, and representative offices of foreign corporations (Mercedes-Benz Russia, Reiffeisen Bank, Procter & Gamble, Intel, Dirol Cadbury etc.) participated in the research. 40 of them were included in the ranking.

    The ranking of corporate philanthropy has been compiled on the basis of quantitative data on the budgets of CSR programs and qualitative data on strategies and approaches the companies apply while implementing their CSR projects. Among 40 companies that participated in the ranking, Amway took the 15th position.

     Information on the outcome of the contest and award ceremony will be published in the newspaper "Vedomosti" on November, 30, 2009.

    It is worth mentioning that in 2008 Amway presented its joint project with UNICEF called "Inclusive Education" at All-Russian competition "Corporate Donor of Russia" and won in the nomination "Best program which creates a favorable environment for life and work of people with disabilities". This nomination was established by the UN Office in Russia.


  • The official awarding ceremony of All-Russia contest "Corporate Donor of Russia" among commercial companies engaged into charity and social activities took place on October 13th, at the State Art Museum of Alexander Pushkin in Moscow.

    Amway Russia submitted for the Contest its joint with UNICEF project "Inclusive Education" and won award in Nomination "Best program, contributing to creation of favorable environment for life and work of disabled people – support to disabled people to ensure their equal participation in the life of the society". This nomination was established by the UN Representative Office in Russia. This project was also included into the book "Best practices of companies in the field of charity and social investments".

    The contest is organized by Donor’s Forum (non-commercial partnership of grand-giving organizations) under the support of the Federation Council of the RF. Among co-organizers and partners of the contest are: Ministry of Economic Development of the RF, Russian Union of Manufacturers and Entrepreneurs, Commission on Charity and NGO Development of the Public Chamber of the RF, UN Representative Office in the RF, Federal Youth Agency, as well as leading Russian mass media. 

    Participating companies submitted 40 CSR projects for the contest, which consisted of 5 nominations, aimed at identifying best corporate social responsibility practices in various fields.

    The evaluation results of the projects submitted for the contest show revival of philanthropy in Russia.
